The Story Behind The Health Hike

Health Hike Pilates was born from movement, creativity, and rebuilding.

Hi, my name is Monica. I’m a 21-year-old performer, actor and aerial dancer, and movement has always been at the centre of my life.

At 18, I decided to leave university to fully commit to a career as a performer and to begin building my own business alongside it.

I trained and worked across multiple disciplines — teaching Pilates, qualifying as a Personal Trainer, teaching dance, performing professionally, acting, modelling and freelancing on the reformer. My body wasn’t just something I trained — it was my livelihood.

Then in 2025, everything changed.

A major knee injury meant I could no longer dance. I underwent knee reconstruction surgery and had to relearn how to walk, move and trust my body again. It was the most challenging period of my life — physically, mentally and emotionally.

Movement, once effortless, became intentional. Slow. Purposeful. Rebuilt.

Through that process, Pilates stopped being just something I taught — it became the foundation of my recovery. It taught me how to move safely, rebuild strength, reconnect to my body and regain confidence in myself again.

In August 2025, after coming through the hardest chapter, I decided to take a leap of faith — and Health Hike Pilates was born.

The studio opened its doors in mid-October 2025, built on the belief that movement should support you, not break you.

The studio was a success. Over 100 clients walked through the door, and I felt like I had truly changed their outlook on life.

Fast forward to now. The studio is now mobile-run. The Health Hike is running through events, private clients’ homes, online coaching and through social media.

Born from performance.

Built through recovery.
